“Mighty Women reflects our ethos of working for women, with women and by women. Last year we supported 1,551 women across Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey. This award is for all those women.”
Women’s Aid ABCLN provides confidential support, information and emergency accommodation for women and children affected by domestic violence.
One in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Women’s Aid is working towards a society where domestic violence will not be tolerated, perpetrators will be held to account, and women and children can live free from the fear or threat of abuse.
Cllr McClelland said “We would like to thank award hosts Families First and all those who supported our nomination for your recognition and kind support.”
