Womens Aid Antrim, Ballymena, Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey (ABCLN) is currently seeking Voluntary members to join their Board of Directors. We are a diverse and committed team working co-operatively at a governance and strategic level to provide direction and assist our staff in providing services to women and children in the community affected by domestic violence.
The Board of Directors consists of individuals from a range of professional backgrounds with diverse skills and experience who are working to meet the challenges and opportunities in a changing environment.
We are seeking new members as we want to enhance our membership and build on existing skills and expertise. We are particularly seeking applications from women with experience in relation to:
The Board currently meet every other month and sub-groups are held on a quarterly basis. Meetings are mostly held in Antrim, however sometimes travel to our Ballymena office is required. Ideally you would give around 4 hours a month, which includes attendance at the Board meetings. Induction training will be provided. This is an unpaid voluntary position. Reasonable expenses will be paid.
To help you get to know our work, we are hosting an information session on Wednesday 22 August at 7pm in Grace House, Antrim for all prospective members.
