Family First Resource Week Five

Challenge One

It is more important than ever to spend time with your family outside – following the Government’s official guidelines.

Challenge Two – Draw a life sized picture of your pet or favourite animal.

Or Make your own worry buddy – this child made a ‘Worry Robot’!

The worries go in here -The hat is a small tablet box lid which can be removed to put your worries inside. And the mouth can be drawn on and erased depending on your feelings that day.

Challenge Three – The Lego Challenge – try to build a stand up 3D rainbow

If there is no Lego in your house – be creative and build a rainbow from other materials.

Parenting Tip – Discipline

Today we are talking about discipline. Discipline with children really should be the last resort. There are lots of other methods that you can use to help children do the right thing.

You should always be very consistent in your approach with children to allow for certainty and for children to feel safe. We want to teach children what is right and wrong in a safe and secure environment.

It is important for parents to have clear boundaries. Parents can model being calm and regulated themselves, and this teaches children through watching and observing.
