Domestic Abuse Specialists in Refuge

Domestic Abuse Specialists work with women in refuge to identify their individual needs and develop a support plan focusing on safety planning and protection measures.
We provide one to one support and information enabling women to explore options and make informed choices.

We provide practical support to help women access services including housing, benefits, social services, healthcare and education, financial services, police and legal support.

Children and Young People
Domestic Abuse Specialists support mums to help children settle in to the refuge. With a fully equipped playroom and outdoor facilities, we aim to make every child feel welcome, safe and secure.

We work together with mums to develop a support plan focusing on positive parenting, healthy-eating, sleep routines, family activities and play. We provide one to one therapeutic support for children and young people, enabling them to cope with the trauma they have experienced.

Refuge offers short term accommodation, and women can stay with us for a few days or several months depending on their needs. Accommodation is fully accessible, with specialist staff available in refuge or on-call 24 hours a day.
